Crafter Auto-Crafting Basics: Your First Automatic Workshop

Why this matters

Why this matters

The crafter is a redstone block that crafts items on its own. Every redstone pulse crafts one item and drops it out of the front. Works in Java and Bedrock (1.21 and newer).

Crafter Auto-Crafting Basics: Your First Automatic Workshop

Quick steps

Step 1: Craft a crafter from 5 iron ingots, 2 redstone dust, 1 crafting table and 1 dropper.

Step 2: Open it and click empty slots to disable the ones your recipe does not use.

Step 3: Feed the ingredients with a hopper from above or the side.

Step 4: Give it a redstone pulse with a button or clock – it crafts one item each time.

Tip: Disabled slots never get filled by hoppers, so the recipe pattern always stays correct.
