Breeze Rod Farm: Wind Charges and Mace Materials
Why this matters
What you will get
Trial spawners cannot be picked up or moved, even with Silk Touch. A breeze rod farm is therefore always built around an existing breeze trial spawner inside a trial chamber. The farm is slow – the spawner has a cooldown of about 30 minutes after each wave – but it is the only renewable source of breeze rods.
Materials
About 40 glass blocks, 4–9 hoppers, 1 chest, building blocks (tuff or stone), torches, a sharp sword, armor, optional: ominous bottle for ominous waves.
Step-by-step
Step 1: Find the breeze spawner. Look into trial spawners in the chamber: the small spinning figure inside shows the mob. You need one showing a breeze.
Step 2: Clear the room. Beat the first wave so the spawner goes into cooldown. Now you can build safely.
Step 3: Build the floor. Dig out the floor around the spawner in a 3×3 to 5×5 area and replace it with hoppers leading into a chest one level below.
Step 4: Enclose the room. Build glass walls and a glass ceiling about 3 blocks above the spawner. Breezes jump high, so the ceiling is important.
Step 5: Light the area. Place torches outside the glass so other mobs do not spawn around your farm.
Step 6: Run a wave. Stand inside the kill room within about 14 blocks of the spawner with line of sight. Kill each breeze in melee; rods fall into the hoppers.
Step 7: Wait for the cooldown. The spawner stays inactive for about 30 minutes. Use the time to explore or repair gear.
Step 8: Use the rods. One breeze rod crafts 4 wind charges. A mace needs 1 heavy core and 1 breeze rod.
How to check it works
After one wave the chest should contain breeze rods. If rods stay on the floor, a hopper is not pointing into the chain – check it with the debug view (F3) or by breaking and replacing it.
Common mistakes
Leaving the roof open – breezes escape and the wave does not end.
Shooting with a bow – breezes deflect projectiles back at you.
Standing too far away – the spawner only activates for nearby players.
Expecting a fast farm – the 30-minute cooldown is the real limit.
Variations
With Bad Omen the spawner switches to ominous mode and spawns stronger waves with better drops. In multiplayer, more players nearby means bigger waves and more rods per cycle.
Tip: Breezes deflect arrows and tridents. Use melee weapons only.
